Pesepolis
Persepolis is the Greek name (That means Persian city) of the ancient town of Parsa.
This unique collection is located near the Rahmat mountain plains (The mountain of Mercy), 55 kilometers northeast of Shiraz.
Monuments left are the finest historical collection of the world. Construction of the building began in the time of Darius the Great in 518 BC and lasted about 120 years. It was the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid kingdom for more than 260 years.
Persepolis is built entirely of stone in an area of approximately 135,000 m². It contains seven palaces (Halls), terrain, stairs and two stone made tombs. Buildings and tombs of Persepolis are consisted of more than three thousand reliefs that are incredibly coordinated.
